What We Do

AA4A provides a long-term stable family environment where disadvantaged children can grow and learn. AA4A aims to provide the parental love and sibling relationships that all children deserve and crave through its unique village concept.

Our pilot project is Tumaini Village in Arusha, Tanzania, where orphaned children experience reliable caring relationships, allowing them to grow up in a stable family environment until they become independent young adults.

Tumaini Village is a community where children can learn, develop and take pride in their African culture and heritage.  Each child lives in a house with seven other children, cared for by a live-in Mama and Aunt. They attend school on site with the other children, as well as children from the wider community.

By providing stability and support throughout childhood we enable disadvantaged children to lead fulfilling lives.

This will improve social outcomes for Tanzania now and in the future.

Once completed and operating effectively Tumaini Village will be used as a model to create similar communities in other parts of Tanzania and other African countries.
